What the different eco-labels mean?

There are wide range of different cleaning agents and cleaning supplies on the store shelves. In order for customers to be able to distinguish environmentally friendly products from others, they are marked with different environmental labels.

The product range of Puhastusimport includes several eco-labelled products. Eco-labels can be found on Kiehl’s and Rekal cleaning products, Vikan and Vileda cleaning supplies, BulkySoft tissue papers and Sterisol liquid soaps.

EU Ecolabel

The European Union Ecolabel is the official EU Ecolabel, introduced in 1992. It is recognised in all EU member states, Norway, Liechtenstein and Island. The aim of the EU Ecolabel is to promote the development, promotion, production and use of environmentally friendly products. To apply for the EU Ecolabel, a product must meet strict ecological criteria.

For example, Kiehl's general cleaning and textile detergents, as well as commercial kitchen and dishwashing detergents, have the EU Ecolabel. In addition, many BulkySoft tissue papers and napkins carry the EU Ecolabel.

Nordic Swan Ecolabel

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the most authoritative and well-known ecolabel in Nordic countries. It was established in 1989 by the Nordic Council of Ministers to mark the "green" products of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. The aim of the Nordic Swan Label is to reduce the environmental impact of the production and consumption of goods. In addition, the label aims to make it easier for consumers to choose environmentally friendly products. In order to receive the Nordic Swan Label, the product undergoes a thorough inspection. During the inspection, the environmental impact of the product is assessed throughout its life cycle, i.e. from raw material to recovery. Thus, the Nordic Swan Label guarantees that the product meets strict environmental and quality requirements.

A number of Puhastusimport’s products carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel:
