Cleaning of different surfaces and furniture
There are many different surfaces which require daily cleaning and maintenance in the lobby, hallways, and rooms of a hotel – tables, chairs, counters, mirrors, etc. Just a microfibre cloth and clean water or some detergent can provide very good results, but there are also several useful tools to make cleaning more efficient and convenient.
A good option for cleaning hard-to-reach surfaces, such as shelves and the area behind radiators is the Vikan interior mop holder with the Vikan microfibre interior mop. When used dry, microfibres use static electricity to collect dust, dirt, and hair. When damp, a microfibre mop is also good for removing dirt and grease. Microfibre cloths and mops are very efficient tools for cleaning glass surfaces, with no glass cleaners necessarily required. It would be advisable to use as little glass cleaner as possible, as the chemicals may irritate the eyes and respiratory systems of people. Furthermore, if glass cleaners are used often, the substance accumulates on the surface, making dust stick to the glass surface easily, which in turn leaves the surfaces dull and greasy even after cleaning. Even though many surfaces can be cleaned efficiently by using regular water and a microfibre cloth, detergents are still also needed sometimes. Below, we introduce some of the detergents which are often used in accommodation establishments:
- Kiehl Econa Balance – an odourless general detergent for daily cleaning, as well as for intensive cleaning operations. Suitable for cleaning all water-resistant flooring materials, different surfaces, objects, and waxed and oiled surfaces.
